Instructions:

New Systems: Simply place the Bio-Bale^TM in your filter compartment ensuring that all corners and gaps are filled. Do not compress Bio-Bale^TM because this will actually reduce its effectiveness.

Running Systems: Do not totally replace your present filter medium all at once. Replace half of your present medium with Bio-Bale^TM and wait two weeks before replacing the remainder. The procedure minimizes stress on your system while new bacteria cultures establish themselves.

Always use good pre-filtration such as filter floss, mechanical canister, or sponge with Bio-Bale^TM to avoid detritus buildup in the media of your sump.

Cleaning: Rinse your Bio-Bale^TM every 3 months in a container filled with waste water from your tank.
